Sensational Santa Fe

Before arriving in Santa Fe, there was one more day of Georgia O’Keeffe-wonder at the Ghost Ranch. This former dude ranch has an interesting history, including being the summer home and studio of O’Keeffe.

We took the Landscape Tour which brought us to different locations on the property where O’Keeffe painted. At each stop the guide pointed out a view, then we saw a reproduction of a painting which allowed us to refocus our view with the painters perspective. It is amazing how little the landscape has changed in eighty years, even the dead trees are still standing. The high desert in this part of New Mexico has an incredible and varied terrain. Each hour, the sunlight changes the dramatic vistas. No painting or photograph can fully capture the amazing panoramas.

We arrived in Santa Fe, a city we love. This visit has an added purpose, a collage quilt class with a bff! Although the class takes up most of each day, delicious dinners and a visit to Meow Wolf have added to the fun time. Meow Wolf is an interactive and immersive art installation that was established in Santa Fe in 2008. It is filled with fun for all ages.

There is so much to enjoy in Santa Fe and surrounding locations. Art galleries and museums, marketplaces, monuments and of course excellent food. We are thrilled to enjoy this visit with great friends.
